Jolly Hobbies Arts and Craft Fair
I love nice craft fairs - and this craft fair is nice. Hornsey Parish Church Hall is a stones throw from Crouch End, at the bottom of Muswell Hill and Alexandra Palace and is the most ideal place for a fair such as this. It has been running since September and will continue into the new year thank goodness. The lovely ladies Ako Kivanc, who runs the stylish shop Forms in Camden Lock and textile artist Yasu Hasegawa (creator of gorgeous felted art pieces, in lovingly handmade frames) organise the events and are very gracious hosts indeed. We had a great time at the fair on 17th December, our last fair before Christmas. There was delicious food from the fabulously named Hungry Wolf and there was tea and jewellery and cards and cushions AND PARKING just outside!. We sat next to Tanya from Strikk, who amuses us greatly with her worldly charm and wicked sense of humour. Strikk's knits are of the highest quality and style - lush, thick, cosy knitted hotwater covers, blankets and cushions. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2012.

We Make at Battersea Arts Centre - Lavender Hill
Had the most lovely time at the We Make London fair yesterday. Once again Mary, the main organiser and all her people put on a top notch event. Thank you ladies of We Make, you're the best! There were carols from the Jubilee Singers filling the hall which in itself was stunning. We met lots of amazing people like Paula Eastman of Feather Fancies selling exquisite fascinators and the amazing Kate Rawlinson of One of a Kind Boutique was sat opposite us so I got to gaze across longingly at her beautiful stall. We met Kashmira from Ant Designs who makes lovely papercut messages. And Anna Wiscombe with her decorative, folky little wooden brooches. I didn't get a chance to shop, as much as i'd like but I did buy a couple of felted mushrooms from Nichola Pitt. Gorgeous. I cannot possibly mention everyone but the quality of products at this handmade event was so high, everyone did a great job - all the stall holders are listed on the We Make website.

Columbia Road Christmas Market
I love Columbia Road all year. But there is something magical about the place at Christmas...
and the band played... and the people shopped...
